Friendship
I wonder as I sit what does the word mean
Once I really thought I knew the answer
Smiling a weary smile I hope I wasnt wrong
For friendship to me meant more then words
It meant being able to be you no matter what
Not having to fear your secrets would be told
Being able to cry without being judged unfairly
Not having to be perfect or to change for others
Friends accepted you as you were didnt they?
They knew your faults and still remained true?
When you did something really dumb they knew
Sometimes friends made mistakes didnt they?
When friends didnt agree they stayed friends
I would fight a thousand enemies for a friend
It was okay if we got made once in awhile
Because friends always got over being mad
Always remaining there for one another true?
Was I wrong about you? I really hope not
Your friendship is one that I carry in my heart
A special bond that I pray I will never lose
So tell me please what is friendship to you?

Judge and Jury
I once was judged by a one man jury
All he could see was my past mistakes
Not once did he try to see the real me
With eyes as hard as rocks he watched
In his mind I was now an enemy of his
It did not matter if he was wrong or not
He had made his choice I was branded
So long I tried to show him he was wrong
Only he did not want to see the truth
No matter how hard I tried he denied it
Nothing would help me still I persisted
Yet I had changed I was free of the past
Finally I had decided he enjoyed judging
First impressions were what he went by
Right or wrong he judged me from the start
Weary I have made up my mind to move on
With just a little advice as I step away
Judge not from the past look to the future
Let your mind open to all possibilities
For you see my friend life is to short
Do not live in a world based on the past.

To die when the leaves are still on the trees
To never see the sun as it filters the earth
To no longer hear your sweet laughter again
When no longer I can see your tender smile
When time no longer exists as I know it now
When the light in my heart has faded away
Then I shall close these weary eyes of mine
